Composite Bonding
What Is Composite Bonding?
Composite bonding is the application of tooth-coloured composite resin filling material to a tooth or teeth to enhance their appearance in a minimally invasive way.
At New Road Dental, our dentists have been harnessing the advantages of composite resins for decades, and it is a highly tried and tested treatment option for us.
Composite bonding aims to enhance the appearance of your smile by addressing imperfections such as uneven tooth shapes or edges, minor alignment or symmetry concerns, and discoloured teeth, helping the smile appear more even and uniform.
It can be a standalone treatment or used to complement other cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening and clear aligners.

How Long Does Composite Bonding Last?
With a good oral care routine in place, composite bonding can last around 5–10 years.
As teeth and composite wear over time, the composite material may need to be repaired or replaced.
How Long Is the Composite Bonding Treatment Process?
This treatment can often be performed in just one appointment, and the treatment time will vary depending on the complexity and number of teeth being treated.
Your dentist will assess your teeth and discuss the most appropriate approach during your consultation.
What’s the Difference Between Composite Bonding and Dental Veneers?
Whereas composite bonding is carried out by the dentist directly and typically in a single visit, porcelain veneers are bespoke laboratory-made porcelain restorations and are therefore a two-stage process.
Porcelain veneers are generally regarded as having excellent aesthetics and longevity and can address a wider range of issues.
Composite bonding, on the other hand, can often be quicker, more conservative and less expensive.
