Dental Emergencies
Some dental problems require prompt attention. At New Road Dental Practice, we aim to provide same-day emergency appointments in the vast majority of cases, subject to availability.
When you contact us, our trained reception team will ask a few questions about your symptoms so that we can assess the urgency of your problem and arrange the most appropriate appointment as quickly as possible.
Our priority is to diagnose the cause of your problem and relieve pain or discomfort wherever possible.
When might you need emergency dental care?
Contact us promptly if you experience:
- Significant or severe dental pain
- Facial or gum swelling
- Uncontrolled or unexplained oral bleeding
- A cracked, loose or broken tooth
- A knocked-out tooth
- A lost filling, crown or bridge
- Signs of a dental infection or abscess
If a crown, bridge or filling has come out, keep the restoration clean and safe and bring it with you to your appointment. Your dentist can assess whether it can be repaired or reused.
If you develop significant facial swelling, difficulty breathing or difficulty swallowing, seek urgent medical attention.
